The ALE pointer PRCTR of DataSource 0PROFIT_CTR_ATTR does not support table CEPCB

Hi,

I get this error message when I try to activate business content datasource 0PROFIT_CTR_ATTR in ECC (EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0).

Generating DataSource 0PROFIT_CTR_ATTR

The ALE pointer PRCTR of DataSource 0PROFIT_CTR_ATTR does not support table CEPCB

searched on SDN and Marketplace/OSS Notes. couldnt find anything.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this error message.

Yes, we resolved the issue. we ended up opening up an OSS message.

FYI - L09 is my ECC system SID and 510 is the client.

they said -

Root cause of the issue are missing entries in table TCDOB for OBJECT PRCTR.

You need the following 2 records, which are not present in this table

of L09/510 at the moment:

OBJECT        PRCTR

TABNAME       CEPCB

MULTCASE    X

DOCUDEL

REFNAME

OLDTABNAME

ARCHMULT

OBTEXT        Profit center master record

OBJECT        PRCTR

TABNAME       CEPC_BUKRSB

MULTCASE      X

DOCUDEL

REFNAME

OLDTABNAME

ARCHMULT

OBTEXT        Profit center master record

Although when you try to modify this table to add the entries as suggested by SAP Support, you will find that Delivery class of this table is S - System table, maint. only by SAP, change = modification.

so we asked them to add these table entries. once they did that, we got past this error message in this datasources. we followed the same process for all such error messages with other datasources.

Example - we were also getting

1) The ALE pointer LSTAR of DataSource 0ACTTYPE_ATTR does not support table CSLAB

2) The ALE pointer KOSTL of DataSource 0COSTCENTER_TEXT does not support table CSKSB

3) The ALE pointer KSTAR of DataSource 0COSTELMNT_ATTR does not support table CSKAB

we added the following entries in table TCDOB in our system that resovled these message as well.

OBJECT       TABNAME                 MULTCASE

KOSTL           CSKSB                          X

KSTAR           CSKAB                         X

LSTAR           CSLAB                          X

Hi,

Assuming that your doing at ECC dev environment.

Not sure whether its related to this or not. but i guess it.because table - CEPCB - Profit Center Master for Change Documents.

Just try to check field PRCTR have selected change document property or not.

source system side Go to SE11 table - PRCTR, display -->further characteristics and check that option.

Even take source team or functional help. You need set some settings for PRCTR.

yes, I am doing in ECC dev system.

I have confirmed that field PRCTR has change document property set correctly in se11.

Check on PRCTR returns no errors.

Have you older version of ecc system?

if yes then related settings PRCTR need to compare with two versions.

is it possible to share the long text details of your error or error message number.

select that error(error screen shot, 2nd row) and click display(glasses).

if we see long text it may shows exact error or what settings not existed.

Only related OSS note I could find is note 640223 but that is a 10 yr old OSS note applicable to R/3 4.7 only.

This note says that the error happens becasue some logical pooled tables and their entries were not converted.

For this reason, application errors may occur because table entries created in the source release are no longer found.

There is a report that you can use to find and correct the incorrect table entries.

does anybody know which report/program is this OSS note referring to?

OSS note has an attached SAR file with a transport request. But I can't apply that transport to my system as I am on a differnt release (much higher).
