Hi Gurus,
Rajesh here I am having 9+ years experience in SAP Portal & WD JAVA& ABAP and expert in SAP FPM also.I am interested to learn SAP MDG.
I need you people suggestions and help to know the right direction.
As I doont have MDM experience , is in must to have for MDG...as I am expert in Web Dynpro ABAP and FPM.
Please some one suggest me the starting point for MDG and the way to get expert.
Thanks in advance
Rajesh
I did a MDG project without experience in MDM...so MDM is not a prerequisite..
from a technical point of view..you need strong expertise in FPM , ABAP OO and depending how you decide to replicate master Data , ALE/IDOC or SOA.
probably you'll have to enhance the standard workflow so expertise in sap workflow is also required..
this doc page was very useful for me...with a lot of tutorial

Dear Rajesh,
SAP MDG is combination of technoligies like Webdynpro,FPM,BRF+,worflow and ABAP OOPS,you got to have exposure to all of this areas but MDM experties in not needed.
As you mention you are good at ABAP,Webdynpro and FPM will be advantage to you and learn the tool easily.
But again I belive zeel of learning will make every thing easier no matter which ever area you belong.

Hi Rajesh,
To learn MDG, there is no prerequisite to have the knowledge of SAP MDM as SAP MDG is purely ECC centric module and product of SAP while SAP MDM is tool based product of SAP which can be interfaced with SAP ECC via middleware like SAP PI.
The basic requirement to learn MDG is that you have the basic knowledge of master data objects like Customer,Supplier ,Material etc from SAP ECC perspective as SAP offers its product in these Master Data Domains including Financials too.
Well, to start MDG you can go through the below links which will help you in understanding its usage and the advantages.
