Can we access a local flat file(on users desktop) using a fileformat?

Dear All,

Just would like to know if we can access a flat file placed on users desktop using a file format or the file has to be place on the Infosteward server madatorily?

Hi Shankar,

It is always recommended that, the file should be access to IS Job Server, When you perform profiling, the IS Job server looks for file access. Yes we can access the file from Desktop by making the job server OS user providing access to that folder.

As you mentioned the file need to be present on the IS job server, otherwise it can not be accessed.
