WBS assignment & Settlement rule for work orders

Former Member

We are using PS along with the PM module and assigning the work orders to the WBS structure in PS, however we are having some problems with the WBS assignment and settlement rules at the work order level.

We would like to limit the number of work orders we create, but need to be able to assign the WBS and settlement rules to the operations level of the work orders in order to have them fall under different WBS elements or setle to different Cost Centers.

Is this possible, and what do we need to do?

Thanks You,

E

Hi Erik,

Yes it is possible,

what ever you have receiver object you have selected in settlement profile you have to to settlement allow to all.

then whenever you do settlement you can select one of them or according to business requirement.

What we would like to do is create a work order with the below settlement rules and WBs assignments.

  • Work Order #1
    • Operation #1: assigned to WBS.01 and settling to Cost Center X
    • Operation #2: assigned to WBS.02 and settling to Cost Center Y
    • Operation #3: assigned to WBS.03 and settling to Cost Center Y

Currently we assign the WBS and settlement rule to the Work Order, and the operations default to that assignment and rule.

Is there a way to do the above without creating seperate WOs for each operation?

Thanks,

E

Hi,

Order cost can now be posted to Order Cost table at operation level (new table PMCO_OP) as against current Order costs being posted to Order overall/header cost table (PMCO). This is based on configuration settings to be done. (ECC 6.0 EHP5 version)

Hi Erik,

Your requirement is possible, refer below link. Settlement at operation level. I have not worked on this, need to explore a bit to understand the concept

SAP Library - Orders (CS-SE/PM-WOC-MO)

Hi,

For settlement of PM Work orders assigned to WBS, You can use CO88/KO88. And the settlement receiver can be Cost Center/GLA/WBS.

Also please clarify as Sudhakar asked,  the below

Hi,

PM order costs can be settled to either WBS element or cost center or G/L account as business wanted to have settled costs.

Defining the different Settlement receiver (either WBS or Cost Center or G/L ) was dependent on your business teams decision and accordingly you will have set up like that.

What do you mean by limit the number work orders? having one work order or "N" of order that depends on needs of the business.

Thanks,

Sudhakar
