CMS Runtime Systems - TCSDeployServlet Unauthorized

Former Member

Hello,

We recently upgraded our NWDI System from 7.31 SP7 – SP10 and facing an issue in defining the runtime systems for the track and saving them. We are able to save the track without any runtime definition but when there is one provided the track is not saved with the below error message –

communication error: Error connecting to TCSDeployServlet: Connection returned with 401 (Unauthorized)

Any thoughts on the issue?

Regards,

Nagarajan.

Hi

Were you able to resolve this issue? I am having a similar issue after a system copy.

Hi Hari,

Yes. We opened up an message with SAP and here is the solution that worked for us. Below is the reply from SAP.

NWA -> Configuration -> Scenarios -> Configuration Wizard click on functional unit configuration UI: To perform the initial technical configuration of functional units, see the Functional Unit Configuration UI

On next screen, if you don't see it in the list, turn the filter off and enter ""NWDI using CMS", you should be able to find it.  Then go through the steps to enable automatically and go through the steps, there are a few of them there.

Hi Nagarajan

Thanks. Good to know your issue was resolved.

In our case, we did a system copy and saving a track (after pointing to the new DTR and CMS) was giving an error. We found out the 'old named reservation' embedded in the configuration was causing the issue. We followed 1583839 to delete the old reservation and then I was able to save the track with new settings.

I am using the Administrator ID across our NWDI, SLD and Portal Servers.

usually you will put administrator of the runtime system there in the configuration.

what user u are using now?

Hi Nagarajan,

In runtime system configurations, you define user for Deploy Control. Can you check if the user mentioned has same access as CMSUser. It could be SAP bug too, but as indicated here, there is authorization check done while saving the track, so you might want to check that user credentials.

Thanks,
