Hi Experts
why do we need overwrite the kernel Executable.
why can't we delete old kernel Executables and then copy new kernel Executables to sapmnt/sid/exe folder.
Regards
Dhrish
Hi Dhirish,
one of the basic reason is there if there is any issues coming with NEW kernel we still have an option to restore it from somehwere so we keep backup.
With regards to your query for overwritting we do because we have usually have some external binareis which are used.

Hi Dhrish,
Do not delete existing kernel files. Make a copy of it and store it in other folder .
Overwrite the existing kernel files with new kernel files.
Hope this helps.
