Query on Confirmed end date (dates/Qty tab) in Display Process order view

Hello All

I have a Q on Confirmed end date (dates/Qty tab @COR3) i.e the date of actual Cnf of the last relevant phase .

E.g

1. If the Order start date has 25.04.2014 , End date 30.04.2014 , & I confirm today , the confirmed  end  date (date of actual CNF for the last phase) is reflected as today.(i.e 26.04.2014)
2. If the Order start date has 25.03.2014 , End date 30.03.2014 , & I confirm today , the confirmed  end  date (date of actual CNF for the last phase) is reflected as 30.03.2014.
   unless I manually change it in Cor6 during confirmation)
   
   So my Q , why does SAP not take actual confirmation date by default in the 2nd Case ? Is this a standard SAP Functionality ?

Attached screen for the date which I am referring i.e Confirmed end date....Dates mentioned above are just examples

There are 8 different situations which decide how the Execution start

date and time are filled.
