Dear All,

We have a requirement to install the Standalone Gateway Server on our database server to schedule the database related jobs from the application server.

Please help us in downloading the software from the service market place.

OS : RHEL 5

Database : Oracle

In service market place I am finding only this file SAP NETWEAVER GATEWAY 2.0  is it the correct file to download.

Regards,

Lalitha.

Hello

Standalone gateway is not required on Unix system as the BR*Tools commands can be launched using rsh.

I you are still willing to use the gateway install it using the follwing option in SWPM.

3. Connection through SAP gateway

----------------------------

It is often not necessary - or simply not possible (on Windows, for example) - to provide a remote shell connection from the DBA Cockpit system to the external database. As an alternative to the remote shell, you can also set up the connection using an SAP gateway.

Install and configure a standalone SAP gateway on the host of the external database (see Notes 657999 and 927508 for further information). Run the gateway under the OS user cenadm (Unix) or SAPServiceCEN (Windows)

Dear Kervadec,

Thanks for the reply,

But as per our company policy we can't provide the rsh access from application server to database server.

So we need to install the gateway server.

Do we need to download any other software excluding the SWPM to install the GATEWAY.

Lalitha

I think you just need to download the latest SWPM package + the associated kernel pack.

Hi Lalitha,

You need to download the appropriate kernel DVD as well (besides the SWPM tool). Choose the kernel which is the same in your CI system.
