EP Upgrade Long running in Deploy Shadow Instance.

Hi Experts,

I am in process of SAP portal upgrade.

Source:     EP NW 7.0 SPS26

Target:     NW 7.3 EHP1 Upgrade

OS is windows 2003 with database as MSSQL 2005.

Database to be upgraded to MSSQL 2008 with OS windows 2008.

• Database is already migrated to MSSQL 2008.
• Stack file generated and upgrade patches already downloaded
• Latest SUM verion 1.0.10

Right now I am doing this on Sandbox.

I am at preprocessing phase.

SUM showing Component "'com.sap.nw.pcc.ui'" is deploying, 3 days has passed at this step.

I am monitoring database too. Datafile and logs files are getting utilized at very slow speed(there is enough free space in DB)

Do anyone have any idea if this is normal or some issue is there.

Hi Shontu,

3 days is not a normal behaviour, did you raised message with SAP. Did you stopped and restarted the upgrade.

What about CPU and RAM which process is utilizing CPU and RAM. what does the upgrade log says.

Hi Deepanshu,

Yes I have opened a message with SAP today, waiting for their reply.

CPU - 3.0 Ghz (2 Processor)

RAM - 16 GB

As per deploy_api.0 log in C:\SUM\SUM\sdt\log\SWITCH below are the last update.

Hi Shontu,

Have you got reply from SAP. There is something wrong that's why it is taking so much of time.. No doubt it should not as 3 days is a long period.

If this is unix then can you please check system messages in /var/adm/messages and see what going at system level.
