Can any one help me to know what is the role of a functional consultant in a upgradation project? What are the responsibilities of a functional consultant?

Hi Jagannath,

For functional consultant following activities can be applicable -

1. Ensuring the smooth flow of the business process

2. Do the master data check such as customer, material, pricing etc.

3. End to end testing plays a pivotal role in upgrading project. - e.g. starting from login as a end user and doing all the activities which an end user do daily and then check the end to end process.

4. Also, it may be the case that in the older version for a specific requirement you would have done a custom enhancement, which is available as out of the box in the new version.  As a functional consultant you need to do the due diligence, understand the dependency and how it will impact when the functionality is available as out of the box in the upgraded version.

5. You may have to modify your functional specification in some cases as mentioned in the point 4 above.

Thank you sir for you reply.I just want to know few more thing.Is it require to do the various customization which previously done for various objects?
