Error 'Depreciation start date...cannot be in the import fiscal year' after Upgrade of SAP 9.0 to PL10

Hi experts,

We would like your advise on the following issue.

We are currently using SAP Business One 9.0 (PL10) and we are trying to import a file of fixed assets, which was successfully transferred in a previous patch level (PL05).

However, an error message occurs in a specific type of a fixed asset master data.

The message is "Depreciation start date of asset "1617079" for depreciation area "0001" cannot be in the import fiscal year"

This asset has:

- Capitalization Date equal to 31/12/2013

- Depreciation Start Date equal to 01/01/2014

- Useful Life and Remaining Life equal to 60 months

- Accumulated Ordinary Depreciation equal to 0

The 'Depreciation Type' is defined in the 'Depreciation Convention' to 'Acquisition / Pro Rata Temporis / First Day of Next Period'

Moreover, Posting Period of January 2014 is unlocked and we also changed the fiscal year from 2013 to 2014 through the 'SAP Menu / Financials / Fixed Assets / Fiscal Year Change'.

We would like your help for this error message that occurs.

I have had the same problem, but I could to solve.

Just I changed the fiscal year on menu FINANCIAL==> FIXED ASSETS

I did like screen and clicked in execute

and bellow is my tempalte

I have tested PL8, the import was successful however when testing PL 13 & PL 14 the same issue arises. There must be something wrong starting with PL 10.

Hi,

It is not wrong, but the earlier behavior was incorrect.

The same has been changed from Version 9.0 PL10. The same is not mentioned in the Note 1963711.

Successfully uploaded, template has been revised (as tested by our colleagues at HO).

Old template PL8 and below values used:

a) 1 line addressed only to the Main Area (depreciation area)

b) Accumulated depreciation as of upload month

c) Remaining Life as of upload month e.g. this month Oct

d) Start of depreciation as of  upload month e.g. this month Oct

New template PL 10 up revisions:

a) 1 line for each active depreciation area. If you have two active depreciation areas, then you'll have two lines e.g.

b) Accumulated depreciation as of beginning of 2014 (Jan 1)

c) Remaining Life as of of beginning of 2014 (Jan 1)

d) Start of depreciation as of original depreciation date e.g. date of capitalization

Hi,

My templates were working fine before PL14 but now it is a total screw up.

Nothing can be imported in PL14, only those with depreciation start date.

Jitin - can you please explain what was wrong with the import behavior prior to PL10?  The post PL10 import behavior causes Go Live import issues with opening balances and accumulated depreciation balancing.

Have you manage to resolve your issue?

I have the exact same issue. I manage to import the assets successfully on patch 10 but the system was recently upgraded to PL14.

I managed to import 502 of my assets but I’m left with 69 and I have tried everything mention on the SAP forums and can’t resolve this issue.

I have attached a list of some assets at the bottom.

I'm having the same issue on the import.

Also running SAP 9 PL10.

Import Fixed Asset Master Data from Microsoft Excel error:

"Depreciation start date of asset "BU400009T" for depreciation area "100" cannot be in the import fiscal year"

We checked the SAP Note.

- The monthly base of calculation and the sub-period of posting period of 2014 is defined to 'month'

- Each sub-period matches its respective calendar start and end dates in calendar sequence

Hi,

Checked the Valid From and Valid To date in Depreciation date. Also check whether Depredciation Start date is fall in specified Fiscal Year.

Thank you for your reply.

The 'Valid From' is set to '01.01.00' and 'Valid to' is set to '31.12.49'. The depreciation start date falls in 2014.

So what's the solution to this end? When i click on any SAP notes, it asks me to provide a username and password.

What is the direction to take? I'm trying to upload fixed asset to 1/1/15 depreciation start date into 2015 fixed asset calendar year.

I'm having the same issue uploading 1/1/14 depreciation start date into 2014 fixed asset calendar year.
