Xml Datasource - how to refresh?

I created a Crystal Report on an XML created from another program.  I was able to create the connection and put the field on the report.  I updated the XML string with new data, reopened the report and it displays the data from the previous xml report.  I saved the report so it doesn't have the data with it.  I tried logging out of the server option and reconnecting to it.

I need to set this up so a user can run the other program, export out the data as XML, then open the report for viewing and printing.  The user will be saving the xml under the same name each time in the same folder, basically overwriting the xml file each time.

I'm using Crystal Report XI fully updated.

Thank you.

Christy

Hi Christy,

It sounds like the xml may be cached in memory. If you close the report and then re-open it and then refresh do you now see the new data?

Check they are actually saving the new xml into the same location

Is this a Windows or WEB app?

Hi CHisty

What does "I'm using Crystal Report XI fully updated." mean? What is the actual version of CR you are using? Best place to find out is to go to the Help menu ion the designer, then About...
