Hi Pavan,

In addition to above information you may need to get which all tables exists in the tablespace.

To get details from the tablespace follow steps below

1. Tcode DB02OLD

2. Click on detailed analysis under tables and indexes section.

3.enter the name of the tablespsace you wish to see the list of tables.

4.Rest mark as *

5. click on tick button...

You can get the list of tables with sizes .

This information will help in deciding whether you can drop the tablespace along with contents or not.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Hello

Based on the name of the tablespace it appears to me that this might have been an auxiliary tablespace created for a tablespace reorg activity. This is not a standard tablespace name for an SAP system.

I would check whether there are some segments/objects present in the tablespace and if there isn't any then I would drop the tablespace.

Hello RB,

Do you mean that this is a temporary table space which is created during the process of offline tablespace reorg...??

please clarify.

Thanks in advance

Hello Pavan

I didn't use the term "Temporaray" tablespace as there is a TEMP tablespace present in Oracle database and I didn't want to confuse you with that.

during a tablespace export and import activity using BR*Tools you create a new tablespace (auxiliary) and move the TABART's to this tablespace. You then export the tablespace content to the OS level using BR*Tools. Once the export is done you drop the source tablespace and recreate them and start the import. Finally you move the TABARTs back from the auxiliary tablespace to the original tablespace.

There is also a possibility that this tablespace was created for an online reorganisation of the tablespace.

Like I said if this tablespace is not used by the SAP system and if it doesn't contain any objects then drop it.
