Impact of Deletion of Data Target Contents on BWA

Hi,

Part of the design of the application is to use "Delete Data Target Contents" step on the process chain. This means, all of the data on the cube will be deleted. Will this step also delete the BWA of the cube?

BWA version: KRP 7.20 rev 30

Hi,

No. For deleting the BWA indexes check report RSDDTREX_INDEX_DELETE. Check note 1180279, you can schedule this report in background.

hey Gervy,

As Deigo stated, it wouldn't impact the BWA indexes. But since you are deleting and reloading your target anyway, it is advisable to drop the BWA indexes and recreate them in the chain itself.

If it is increasing the time which is critical, then you can do the deletion and recreation of BWA indexes on a weekly/ monthly basis.

In your process chain, after your cube is loaded, use an ABAP program RSDDTREX_INDEX_DELETE  to delete the Index of the specific cube. Then add the Intial activation and Fill up BIA Index step.
