EHP6 upgrade stuck in phase MAIN_INIT/REPACHK_CLONE

Dear all,

We are running an upgrade from SAP ECC6 EHP4 to EHP6 by using SUM 10 from a XML file generated on SolMan.

The server is Windows server 2008 R2 Ent, and the DB SQL Server 2008 R2.

The upgrade is stuck during the Preprocessing step in MAIN_INIT/REPACHK_CLONE phase. We didn't find any note or discussions speaking about this issue.

The error message is:

Last error code set is: RFC error system QE3 nr 00 function 'SUBST_GET_INACTIVE_SAP_OBJECTS' failed with code 5 key QUEUE_FILE_NOT_FOUND:  Number:000

Upgrade phase "REPACHK_CLONE" aborted with errors ("20140528141555")

Accepted Solutions (1)

Finally the issue has been solved by reprocessing SUM.

The root cause of this blocking is the value of the parameter DIR_PUT:

Unable to execute the SDT request ABAP operation pre-execute on hostname misapida34ci
instance 00 Pre-Uptime execution of the ABAP upgrade request ABAP has failed
Error from unit observer Tool died unexpectedly with FATAL ERROR: Root
directory 'X:\usr\sap\QE3\SUM\abap' and profile parameter DIR_PUT =
'\\misapida34ci\sapmnt\put' point to different directories

After having changed DIR_PUT, the upgrade has restarted.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

I would suggest you to open a support ticket with SAP in parallel,as you are using SUM 10,may this error related with SUM which you're using right now.The stable version of SUM is SP09.

have you already worked with Central SUM Note ??

1878193 - Central Note - Software Update Manager 1.0 SP10 [lmt_006]

b) ABAP

-----------------------< D019500 MAY/22/2014 >-------------------------

Addendum to ABAP Workbench Locking (Phase REPACHK_CLONE)

(5.Running the Software Update Manager -> Making Entries for the Preprocessing Roadmap Step -> ABAP Workbench Locking (Phase REPACHK_CLONE))

SUM checks in this phase also for inactive development objects. During this check, it can occur that SUM reports inactive objects which can not be found in the SAP system. For information about removing these inconsistencies, see SAP Note 538167.

I hope this will Fix your problem.

The note 538167 is not interesting for us. The version of the kernel is 720 and SAP_BASIS 701.

do you have RS_WORKING_AREA_CONSISTENCE report in your system ?

If it is available, you can try executing this.

538167 provides correction to RS_WORKING_AREA_CONSISTENCE which you don;t need to apply if you are on higher version.

Hope this helps.

I launched it:

Program RS_WORKING_AREA_CONSISTENCE

No inconsistent objects found

Hi,

Kindly follow SAP Notes 1972035 - Upgrade or EHP install breaks down at REPACHK phase with CANNOT_CHECK_LOCKS dump & note 795871 .In addition you can connect on SCN thread .

Here i would like to add one more function module named SUBST_GET_OPEN_SAPOBJ_TAS_REPS  for the execution under SE37.

After performing related activities try to re run the phase.Hope your issue will get resolved.

Gaurav

Hi Gaurav,

Concerning the note 795871, only the table TLOCKP contains 128 records. I ran the 3 reports, that finished successfully ("No invalid entries found")

The 128 records are transports created in the system last week. These transports orders are released.

Should I delete theses entries?

The result of the  function module named SUBST_GET_OPEN_SAPOBJ_TAS_REPS:

Exception       SYSTEM_FAILURE

Message ID:          00                         Message number:           341

Message:

Runtime error RAISE_EXCEPTION has occurred

I used the RFC QE3CLNT000.

Are these 128 records related with your current system ? For deletion of these records i would like to suggest you for a successful backup of the system first.

Hi,

The result of the  function module named SUBST_GET_OPEN_SAPOBJ_TAS_REPS:

Exception       SYSTEM_FAILURE

Message ID:          00                         Message number:           341

Message:

Could you share the runtime error with us.

Regards,

Hi Gaurav,

The error is :

A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLSAUS" raised the exception

condition "CANNOT_GET_TRANSPORTS".

Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior

program, processing was terminated.

If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:

"RAISE_EXCEPTION" " "
"SAPLSAUS" or "LSAUSU16"
"SUBST_GET_OPEN_REPAIRS"

or

"SAPLSAUS" "CANNOT_GET_TRANSPORTS"

or

"SAPMSSY1 " "CANNOT_GET_TRANSPORTS"

As a remember, the system is closed for upgrade reason, so this error seems "normal"

Fabrice

Hi Gaurav,

Yes, these 128 records are related with the system QE3. So I prefer to not delete it for the moment.

The link upgrade EHP4 error REPACHK phase talk about system recently converted to Unicode. It's not the case for us.

you can Call function module SUBST_GET_INACTIVE_SAP_OBJECTS in SE37.

in next screen, enter a valid RFC connection for own system, and see which objects are inactive. If this way, you get to know these objects, may be by activating them , you will be able to move ahead.

best regards

Hi Ashish,

We did it yet. The fonction module find 0 objet inactive in the system.

We found an inactive object in the system that could be the root cause of our issue.
