TREX Search Implementation for PLM Recipe

Hi All,

I need to add one custom field in advanced search for recipe.

This has to be done through TREX as far as my understanding.

Please let me know how to start this implementation.

And what are all the steps i need to do. Please help.

Hello Rani,

Are you talking about the advanced search screen in the Enterprise Portal search iview or something else? Can you include a screenshot to whow what you are referring to?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes it is from portal.. Here is the image.

Field - 'UPC No' is the custom filed.

And im not sure where to change the logic to involve UPC condition.

In generally you can take influence on fields indexing by TREX in TREX admin if I remember properly. If you need custom functionality for custom fields or whatever in a search application, you probably need to write your own.

Here i have some doubt again...

There should be some steps to achevie this functionality right.

As per my understanding...

1. TREX Configuration

2. TREX Indexing

3. SPRO COnfiguration

4. Badi Coding for filterting the data according to the custom field.

Whether the above steps are correct?

And in Badi, what should be the filter values?

Hi,

I guess this should work in that manner, simple come back iteratively on previous steps if you are noticing you missed something.

The first two should be right in every case: if you want to include some information in a TREX index you need to go sure, the crawler will pick the stuff you need up.

Im not sure about 3 and 4: what exactly do you wanna customize in SPRO resp what happens in 4?
