SAP BusinessObjects Explorer isn't working in BI Platform 4.1 with SSL

Hello,


We have enabled and configured SSL in SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 SP02 (as per official documentation). We can successfully connect to BI Launch Pad, browse the documents and create reports using Web Intelligence.

But when we launch SAP BusinessObjects Explorer from BI Launch Pad instead of automatically being logged into Explorer we are getting the login window with an error message:

Failed to Log on

Explorer was not able to initialize the service locator. (PS 10007).

Failed to retrieve cluster manifest.

This error message remains during any attempt to log in.

Some additional observations - without SSL Explorer is working perfectly, all required Explorer services are up and running in the configuration with or without SSL.

Any ideas and suggestions are very welcome.

looks like the access to Explorer directly (not from inside BI Launchpad) also doesn't work with SSL:

Thanks for the hint. As I understand this note states that we cannot install BI 4.1 without disabling SSL.

The note refered to is not in regards to the SSL for the Explorer User Interface.. the SSL Settings discussed in the note is the SAP BI internal communication bridge (using CORBA)..

Sounds more like an issue with an incorrect configuration of the Web Application.. have you set the master.cluster.name value default.settings.properties?
