PortalDrive 5.0 SP3 install error

Hallo together,

I'm trying to install SAP PortalDrive 5.0 SP3 on a Windows 8.1 Client, but I receive an weird error 0x80004005 (See SetupErrors attached).

I can't find anything in the SCN or Google.

Details:

Installer-Version:

EPDrive64SP03_0-10011479

Windows 8.1 64 Bit

Java Runtime Environment 1.7.0_51

Can somebody help me with that issue?

Answer from SAP-Support in the OSS Ticket:

    
Dear Customer,

Currently we don't provide a working installation of Portal Drive
client on Windows 8. We are aware of this installation issue and we
are working for releasing a working Portal Drive version for Windows 8.

Although not officially supported, it is runs on my Windows 8.1 System if compatibility mode Windows 7 is used !

Hello Peter, have u tried to run the Programm in Win 8 mode ?

After Installation I´m getting an error too, but the program works in Win 8 Mode.

Windows 8.1 is not listed as supported, can you confirm by installing on Windows 8?

No, I habe no possibility to install it on windows 8.

I thought the last Patch will also work on Windows 8.1:

1777531 - Portal Drive 5.0 (64-bit version)

(Build version: 1.6.15804 SP02)

Added Java 1.7 support; Added Windows 8 support.

But ok.. so we have to wait for the next SP hopefully with 8.1 support.

To speed things up, you should create a customer incident to SAP support. They might even provide you a beta version while waiting for the official release.
