Why flat file upload go through all record in cube

Hi Experts,

I found that when I use the flat file upload in planning sequence, the flat file will go through all records in cube even though there is only 1 records in the file.

And that will cause a issue because in the planning sequence I have 2 step.

Step 1: flat file upload.

Step 2: after the flat file upload, use fox function to validate the uploaded data.

Because step 1 contained too many records which not necessary. It will cause step 2 fail.

I am using the parameter like below.

My question is why it go through other records in the cube? Why not only the records which is in the file?

Hi,

the file upload how-to uses a planning function. As all planning functions the data to be read is determined by the filter used. If the filter does not contain any restriction everything will be read.

Solution: Restrict the data to be read in a filter.
