After assigning the serial number profile for material with external serial number mandatory still system takes internal serial number

Hi,

After assigning the serial number profile for material with external serial number mandatory still system takes internal serial number because the automatic serial number tab is still active..

What should be done in order to avoid user to check that tab in migo and restrict from taking internal serial number so that he can mandatorily use the external serial number only.

Is there any standard config or ABAP is the only way for achieving this?

Dear Anand Joshi,

In configuration, you check for serial number profile, you find this in plant maintenance. There is a tick for that through that if you remove the tick then you can remove that tab from it. It is on the first view of screen.

Hi Saurabh,

If you are referring to the tick in OIS2 existing requirement then it only defines 2 things:

1. If the indicator is set, the serial numbers must be created first as a master

record in the system.

2.If the indicator is not set, the serial numbers are created during a business
transaction.

In my case I have removed this check as I want a serial number to be created at time of GR by using my suppliers serial number itself.

I want to disable the tick in the MIGO screen for creating serial number automatically..

- For 'MMSL' Serilising procedure maintain usage '03.'
