Hi,
Our BW Users access BW reports on SAP Portal. When users access reports on Portal for some reports Portal runtime error is happening during execution or during navigation in the report
Error Details:
An exception occured while processing your request.
Exception ID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
How/Where can I locate the log files.
Thanks
Hi ,
Sometimes the runtime error might be because of the cache in the portal, so please clear all navigation , cluster cache and check if it still persists.
Do check in nwa for the runtime error, which would give the detailed description of the issue.

Harsha

Hi,
As you are having a Portal runtime Exception, it means that you are using a portal.
You can refer to SAP note 1596214 - "How to find the latest default trace file of the NW AS Java right after reproducing an issue".
It also contains a reference to a note that explains about a nice tool called "Logwatch" that can be used.
Regarding the NWA - it depends on the version that you are using, but basically there is a troubleshooting section in the NetWeaver Administrator, to configure and see the traces.
More information can be found in the following documentation:

Hi,
Did you check /usr/sap/<SAPSID>\<instance_name>/j2ee/cluster/server<n>/log for default trace and application logs.
