Issuing Storage location in STO

In the STO process the system is allowing to save the STO without Issuing storage location. But, at the time of delivery creation the system is throwing an error message that Zero delivery quantity is not permitted. Now if the issuing storage location is entered manually then the delivery can be created successfully.

Please suggest the possible solution to avoid this.

The storage location can be automatically determined. Go to:

IMG >  Enterprise Structure > Assignment > Logistics Execution > Assign warehouse number to plant/storage location

In this way the user at the moment of the STO does not need to place a Storage Location and the system will put it automatically, then you won't have the error message when creating the delivery.

Hope this helps.

IMG >  Enterprise Structure > Assignment > Logistics Execution > Assign warehouse number to plant/storage location

That's a WM configuration, and is irrelevant for picking storage location determination.

In fact the determination is in the exact opposite direction, SAP will use the plant/storage location to determine the warehouse number, not the other way around.

The correct path is: IMG -> Logistics Execution -> Shipping -> Picking -> Determine Picking location -> Assign Picking locations.

Hi Joao,

Thanks for your answer and sorry for the late reply.

In my case we have not used this setting for the plant from which the STO is being created. But for one material type system is asking for the Issuing storage location and for different material type system is not asking for the issuing  storage location.

Hello

The following wiki explains how to fill the issuing storage location of an STO:

Issuing storage location on stock transfers created by MRP and BAdI MD_EXT_SUP - ERP Manufacturing (...

At the time of STO creation, will the user be in a postion to enter the issuing storage location at the time of STO creation.

If yes, then please make the issuing storage location madatory using purchase order field selection.

Vairavan.

Is the storage location you put in STO, consistent with the shipment location/stock condition used por picking StLoc determination?

It seems that the system is automatically determining a different Storage Location with 0 stock. When you put the Storage Location in STO, it overwrites the automatic determination, which would explain the behaviour.

Hi,

Thankx for your reply.

No Storage location is being entered in the STO manyally. If the Issuing storage location is not entered manually in the STO, then at the time of delivery using VL10B the system is throwing the message "An item no delivery quantity is not permitted. Item will be deleted."

and after entering the issuing storage location in STO the delivery can be created successfully

I understood. The question still applies, is the storage location you put in STO (when you do put it), consistent with the shipment location/stock condition used por picking StLoc determination?

You basically saying that automatic determination gets 0 stock, while manual input of Storage Location doesn't. The conclusion is that probably the system is determining a different storage location, one with 0 stock, instead of the one you expect (the one you use in manual input).
