ERP 6.0 EHP7 what is DVD kit "NW740SR1" ??

We're doing an upgrade from ERP 6.0 EHP5 to EHP7.

During the Extraction phase in SUM (SUM 1.0 SP11) it ask me for

' Enter mount points for DVDs of the kit "NW740SR1" required for the procedure

Enter at least the mount point containing Export DVD for product ERP '

Anyone knows which files it refers to?

We have downloaded "everything",

ERP60 ehp7  upgrade export, installation export, java components (don't know why, because this is an abap-only), Lang, installation export II (zip-file)

NW 7.40 SR1 Upgrade Export, Lang,

Checking the logs doesn't show which files are missing.

AIX 7.1 and DB2 9.7

Please advice!

Hello Mr Cedlert,

to analyze this issue a little bit more in detail would you please provide the following files:

  • stack.xml
  • SAPupConsole.log
  • MIDservice.log
  • CDTRACE.trc

Many thanks for your assistance!

Andreas

Hi Calle,

thanks for the log files.

I can see in SAPupConsole.log:

>> 2014/07/15 23:21:06  START OF PHASE PREP_INPUT/DETMAINMODE

Determined kernel variant from XML as '741'.
Tool runs in main operation mode 'EXPORT'.
Running upgrade with kit 'NW740SR1'

<< 2014/07/15 23:21:06  END OF PHASE   PREP_INPUT/DETMAINMODE

Furthermore your stackfile shows:

Software Components from DVD

[+]  DVD caption: SAP NetWeaver 7.40 SR1 Upgrade DVD  (0)     Type: upgrade     App. system: SAP_J2EEEngineCluster

This is a implementation of EHP7. Please check note #1816819:

########################################################################

Dual-stack systems are not supported any longer for the following upgrade

targets:

1. SAP Business Suite 7i2013 (EHP7 FOR SAP ERP 6.0, EHP3 FOR SAP CRM

7.0, EHP3 FOR SAP SCM 7.0, EHP3 FOR SAP SRM 7.0)

########################################################################

So your system state is no longer supported in your target release version.

You have to run a dual-stack split on the source system before starting the upgrade.

Please check " http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-25162" and/or "http://service.sap.com/sltoolset" for more information.

Cheers,
Andreas

Thanks!

Do you have any idea why it thinks it's a dual-stack? Because it isn't.. pure ABAP.

Could it be some error in SLD/LMDB config that cause this?

Moin Calle,

yes, in the past we experienced that issues like this are caused by a misleading configuration in LMDB/SMSY.

Cheers,
Andreas

Hello,

In the XML it says

<dvd caption="SAP NetWeaver 7.40 SR1 Upgrade DVD" id="3cee2040-08d2-11e3-c83f-005056a204ff" type="upgrade"/>

Maybe the upgrade DVD you have is only for ABAP and the system is ABAP + Java? (or the DVD is only for the Java part...)

Best regards,

Miguel Ariño

<EDIT> I am too late...

In LMDB you have to check if the product system has got a Java technical system assigned. The fact that there is a  Java part does not mean that it is a real dual stack, it could be an assignment to an Enterprise Portal hub system .
