Migration of SAP BO Dashboards 4.1 from Development to production environment

Hi Guys,

I am new to migration environment of project. We are working on SAP BO Dashboards 4.1 with query browsers(connecting to OLAP universe).

At later stage, when we are moving to SIT/UAT/Production environment, how do we really move the dashboards to different environment(SIT/UAT/Production) on the same server??

Since the query browser limitation is the inability to change the universe for the same query, how shall we connect to the SIT database. Pointing connection to the SIT database would mean replacing the existing DEV  connection, but that is not the correct solution as we should have 2 different folders DEV and SIT. Creating SIT universe is not an option since the dashboard(with existing query browser) would point to the dev universe only.

We need a copy of existing dashboards(incl universe and OLAP connections) on the same server with the connections pointing to a different database.

Hi Aarti,

You can migrate the dashboard along with all the dependencies using the promotion manager.

Usually in case of any other relational db we just need to create the DSNs of the same name in the destination environment.
