Manager Self Service WDA Add-on 1.0 role issue

Good day good people

I need advice with issues we are having.

We have upgraded recently to NW 7.4 Stack05.

We went live mid June 2014.  No issues with any roles.

Manager Self Service role - WDA add-on 1.0.

Desktop and framework =Ajax

We had to update again and have recently installed Stack07 Patch2 on the Portal.

HR version is NW 7.4 EHP7 SP 7.

Issue:

When one click on the Manager Self Service Role then it opens the MSS Overview and the menu on the 3rd Level Navigation.

The issue starts when one clicks on Team, or on Talent Management etc.

The system redirects the user to Employee Self Service, but the 3rd Level Navigation still have the MSS functionality populated.

If one remove the ESS role, then the system redirects to the first entrypoint on MSS which is the Overview.

This happens with the custom MSS Role and the SAP Standard MSS Role.

We have a simular problem with the Portfolio Management role (PPM6)

Has anyone had this issue before.

Hi Wynand Visser,

i have faced the same issue and  resolve the solution .

kindly refer to the Note # 2051013 -

Contextual Navigation Panel (CNP) is not displayed in AFP,

From your component information I see that for component "EP-Runtime"

you are at patch 0 and as per the Note you need to be minimum at patch

1.

Kindly refer to the Note and apply the required patch, and mostly this

should solve your issue.

We are just upgrading to Nw7.4 Ehp7 and are having the exact same problem - Did you manage to resolve it?

Yes, we have resolved it....but then had so much other issues afterwards....tried to go live 3 times. The last time (21 NOV 2014), we were lucky and all went well.

I am going to add all the SAP Notes we have applied to get everything sorted.

I will add... give me an hour or so to find all the notes.

To resolve your issue listed earlier.....use SAP Note 2051013

We have also added HR Backend OSS notes as most were WDA related.

Here is all the other notes....

Our issues might been different.....investigate first before applying any Note.

Thanks for all of this..We are at sp008 level 0000, however even the first note is apparently not implementable! Gone back to SAP on this.  Finding it all incredibly frustrating.

Did you also have issues with the ESS WDA1 role.  We are having problems with the navigation with the back buttons etc.

We are currently NW 7.4 SP007.

We had all sorts of trouble....was a tough and frustrating year.

We had the MSS Role issue, MSS Employee ID issue and the ESS expand button issue.  We had Theme issues too.

Let me work through my previous notes to SAP. 

I cannot get into SAP SCN for now.  Will retry later.

SAP Support Portal down.

Check SAP note 2077087.  This has solved our Expand/Navigation issue.

Try testing with Chrome and Firefox too. (we do not use but one can determine if it is only IE related)

We use IE9.

Thanks Wynand, yes noticed the portal was down.  Not unusually.

I can imagine your frustration, we are only 2 weeks in and already tearing my hair out.

SAP consentrating more on Fiori, Personas and Mobile these days, and therfore the original services lack behind.

All the best....hope your upgrade change to a breeze.

Many Thanks, your advice has fixed our initial problem.  Although we could apply the note 2051013, our basis guys applied the patch that took us to sp08 0001 rather than 0000 and hey presto it was fixed.

We don't use Nakisa so hopefully we will not get the issues that you then preceded to get.

Our ESS navigation was fixed by this as well!
