Hello,
Could any one please let me know how and why to create Datastore configuration ?
Thanks in advance,
Bheem
Hi bheem rao,
Datastores represent the actial connection configurations to the databases or applications
These configurations can be direct or through adapters. these allows the BODS Designer to
access metadata from a database or application and read from or write to that database while executing a bods jobs.
1.) your sources might be Data bases or applications how you will get the data from the sources which is located in some place in local system, you can not query the data base directly without establishing a connection between database and BODS designer to get the data, for that you have to go data stores tab > Select NEW data store there you have give the credentials of your source database or application like SAP or some thing else.
2.) once after creating a data store you can import the tables which are there in database or applications from these data stores 1. Right Click on the data store> select Import by name...you can search for the table which you are looking for and than select import it will come and sit in your data store you can find it in the tables under your data stores and you can drag it into your designer.
Hope you have understood, if not let me know if you have further queries.
Thanks and Regards,
Subbu CH.

Datastore Configuration is mainly useful if you have multiple system configurations.
For each System Configuration you can use any of the Datastore configuration making job to run for multiple combination of connections.

Hi,
Simple answer is to connect to different source systems. More details here -
