Old Data from Auditing DB not Deleted

Former Member

Hi Team ,

We have recently set the parameter  Delete Events Older than (days)  to 366 days from 36500 in our BO 4.0 ( Ver= SP7 Patch 2  DB= SQL 2008 ) Landscape  in all system ( DEV ,TST, PRD ). In  DEV & Test we have successfully saved space, as we observed the Available free space  increased to  48 % from 0 % in the data files for the Audit db . But in the BO Production environment , this is not the case. We are  observing growth in temp db growth , but no increase in  Available free space.  Please advice on this.

Regards ,

Abhinav

Abhinav,

Please have look at SAP Note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1581890

It tells you how to cleanup older data, also look at screenshot from CMS > Audit below

Also make sure you RESTART the SIA after the changes have been saved !!!

Thanks Ajay.

Actually this worked fine in Test environment  without restarting SIA.( Test is also clustered with both CMS on one host but in two SIA).

So we are hoping it may work in Prod also. Though we have 2 CMS hosted on two different  hosts in PRD.

Can you run a query PROD DB to check the minimum timestamp? That will tell it is deleting the files as per your setting

select min(start_TIME) from ADS_EVENT

Thanks Jawahar ,

I ran directly on db & got below date. Seems deletion has not started.

2012-07-10 13:25:12.140.

Could you please explain what could be the issue here.

Try restarting the SIA.

Is your PROD environment is cluster environment?

Check this kb also.

Restart SIA, if it still does not work, look at the KB attached in my previous message.
