EHP7 upgrade stuck in SCANDIR_EPS0

Hi,

I am stuck in extraction phase at SCANDIR_EPS0.

Tools failed with all components giving error.

Error:

SAPCAR: can not change date for /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/CSN0120061532_0079710.PAT (error 14). Not owner

Share permissions and ownerships for /usr directory.

Try to download latest SAPCAR from SMP and retry .

it worked. but then gave error on spam update.

That works..

Can you rename your in folder to in_old from dev system

Now create new in from your qas system.

transfer old files from in_old to new in.

If possible can you locate the tool and media on local instead of remote and try the phase again.

I am not able to change the owner on any file or whole folder i.e  /in

You need to use command chown -R uedadm:sapsys /in

This mount is from dev server, is not changing with QA(ueqadm).

Have you setup any NFS for the server means fetching from remote directory.Also please elaborate the above more in detail.

I have changed the owner of /EPS and including files

but still same error.

In that case rename the file that is creating the problem then repeat the phase in SUM.

cd /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in

mv CSN0120061532_0079710.PAT CSN0120061532_0079710.PAT.OLD

Owner for file /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/CSN0120061532_0079710.PAT should be <sid>adm .Try to check for the correct ownerships and permissions.After performing if still issue persists than try to get updated SAPCAR version from SMP for the kernel.

In addition request you to close your previous generated thread.

Check the owner of the file /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/CSN0120061532_0079710.PAT

Try to provide full permission and see if that helps.

chmod a+rwx /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/CSN0120061532_0079710.PAT

Hi Anshul,

Use commands:

chown -Rf <sidadm>:sapsys /dir  -- where sidadm is your user and sapsys is group.

chmod -Rf 0755 /dir

where /dir is the directory were files are kept.

Hello Anshul ,

Can you make sure permissions on EPS/in directory is correctly set -

Change the permissions on EPS/in to 777 and try again . Also make sure that software/patches copied have also 777 permissions.
