Lead Time Scheduling not taking available capacity into consideration

Dear PP Experts,

Please Provide your expert opinion on the lead time scheduling with Capacity Planning. I have llustrated the scenario below:

1. Work Center "X".. Capacity Tab -> Formula: SAPC04, Relevant for "Finite Scheduling" is ticked.Standard Available Capacity -> Start time: 08:00:00, Finish: 16:00:00. Cap Utilization rate = 100, No Overload. Capacity = 8 Hours Per Working Day -> O.K. Scheduling tab use the same formula -> SAPC04

2. In the Recipe use the above Work Center. Define Value for 1st Standard Value Key = 35 Hours

3. While creating Process order (Backward Scheduling) through COR1 we expect that the Order be scheduled for a Span of 4.375 Days (Total Time in Operation = 35 Hours /Capacity of the work Center = 8 Hours).

However the Order is being scheduled for a span of 1.46 Days (35 Hours/ 24 Hours).

By this we infer that it is not accounting for Capacity of 8 Hours in a Day instead it is considering 24 Hours in a Day although we have maintained "Finite Scheduling" in the capacity tab of the work center.

Could you please throw some light on this ?. How do we make sure that the scheduling happens taking Available capacity into account. We have also tried this through MRP route and we are getting the same result

Please go to MDBT or MD01 and find out if the background job variant has Scheduling as 2.

You need to have following set up at basic level first before you perform the capacity requirement planning :

1.In OPKP-Define Production Scheduling parameter -Availability check -Confirm Capacity and also Finite Scheduling check box ticked .

2.In OPU3/OPU5-Define Scheduling Parameters -you should mark the following

1.Automatic Scheduling check box should be marked
2.Scheduling Log check box should be marked -generate in case there is a scheduling error due to capacity over load .
3.Sceduling and Generate Capacity should be ticked .

3.In OPJK,I maintain check capacity with SAPSFCG013 overall profile and set indicator -1 -Release Order -by user decision if capacity is insufficient

4.Work Center - Define the capacity planner group, activate checkbox Relevant for Finite scheduling on the capacity header define the shift timings, break timings and unit of measure, no of individual capacity, enter formula for scheduling in capacity view.

5. Routing - enter the values for the standard values. Use control key with scheduling and CRP activated.

6. Maintain the PSP for each material in material master

Thanks Animesh,

We will try this in our sandbox and revert back.

Hi Animesh,

We have completed the above settings in Sandbox and still after running MRP it is not scheduling taking Capacity requirements into consideration.

It always seems to take 24 Hours as available capacity per day. . Are there any other settings at Plant level ?
