Functional area Substitution based on the GL and plant

Dear Experts,

We have a Substitution for Functional area like below...

Call point -6 Cost of sales accounting

Plant=1000 and G/L =1234 and cost center=' '(Balnk)

substitute Funcatinal area is = 1234

but this is working fine some areas and not working some times (in consistent)

Please suggest any one have faced same issue....

Hi,

check (expert trace in substitution) if the plant is initial in the cases where its not working.

I guess there will be postings where the plant is initial.

Thanks for your useful information, in my case plant is not initial. I will give you example of scenario.

Client will create Purchase Requisition with Account assignment 'K', the same PR will be converted as Purchase order, at PR stage it self GL and Cost center are mandatory to enter.

in this case Functional area should be derived from Cost center, but in my case some times functional area is picking from Substitution and some times from Cost center, not able to find out reason.

I would like to know how can i find from where it is picking Functional area.

I have two options in my thoughts,

1. Presently Functional area is Hidden in Purchase order, if i activate we will find from where Functional area is deriving? by making functional area as display field in Purchase order we can see (Account assignment K by making Functional area as display)

2. My understanding is Substitution will work at the time of MIGO posting, not at the time of purchase order creation? Please clear this
