hello,
we are using crystal reports 14.0.2.364.
when running (or refreshing) a report, we are always prompted for the odbc (rdo) password.
is there a way to store this within the report so any user running the report is not prompted for it?
the data source is an oracle driver - which unlike sql does not provide field to allow a password to be defined at system dsn (windows 2008 server).
therefore I am hoping it can set within crystal?
thanks.
Use a Server Product like CR Server or Business Objects BI 4.0. Both these products can save database passwords.
Or, create a custom app that does the same.

Hi Wasim,
The CR Designer doesn't store passwords, unfortunately.

Set up a trusted / integrated connection on the database(?).

Al least one of the 3rd-party Crystal Report Viewers listed at http://kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html provides a solution for this.
It allows you to store & reuse encrypted login info tied to the Windows User ID and Machine ID (so if the same Windows user runs a report on the same machine, the viewer logs in automatically).
