I have to click the subreport to run

Hello,

I have a pretty basic question, but I can't seem to get the report working correctly.  I have a report which contains a subreport.  I linked the parameters correctly, but when I run, I have to click the subreport to generate.  Is there a setting to change this so that it will just display?  I have created subreports before and they function just fine.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Right-click the Subreport > Format Subreport > Subreport tab > Uncheck the option 'On-demand Subreport'.

I thought this would be the issue, but unfortunately it is unchecked.

Are you running the report from the CR Designer?

Would you be able to attach the report *with saved data*?

You probably allocated too little space for the subreport and/or you need to turn on the 'Can Grow' property.

hi Jonathan,

in some builds (fps or sps) there was an issue where a subreport would not run unless the main report returned at least one record. the subreport would then only run if clicked on.

i would recommend that you start by patching your cr designer to the latest sp & fp.
