Increase the performance of Cost estimate

Hello, Experts,

Our customer want to increase the material cost esitmate performance .

They have 70000 material to be cost so the cosing take 4 hours and releasing take 2 hours

Is there any performance increase method to decrease these times?

Hi,

search SAPNET notes using "CK40N" and "Performance" as search criteria. I find 31 notes with these criterias, also pretty new ones like 1999472, guess there will be notes that are relevant for you.

the Notes are mainlly forcus on the Selection side in the second step.

Hello Bryan,

2 steps that we took to cut down our costing time:

CK40n indicates that they costing 1)  even purchase parts? (we cut time 50% when I did this across 100K materials

2 - We run costing run first for all Procurement type F materials, Save and Mark.

     Then, run Top level material number  with a transfer setting to use a Marked cost estimate

     If you have a lot of common parts, make smaller run, bring to "Marked" -

     This process takes someone who can review "what's left" Our cost person has this down to a science of which number to cost to get "the most" and then does a clean up.

One more thought - are all 70K numbers active? Flag for deletion and exclude from selection; Flag as "do not cost"

But the costing run cost us 10 hours, that impact on the production on the next day.

Did you already consider Parellel processing option in ck40n?.

If parellel running it, i am afraid that material explosion by BOM will be overlapped each other.
