Inspection Lot Not Triggered for STO - One Plant to other Plant in same Company

Dear SAP Gurus,

We have a scenario of STO for one plant to other plant with in the same company code.

The process is being followed as follows ;

1. We create stock transfer by creating P.O thru ME21N

2. Create Outbound delivery thru VL10B

3. Doing PGI & Picking thru 'VL02N. Thru movement type '641'

The QM settings are as follows to trigger an inspection lot

1. Inspection lot origin '08' activated in MM.

2. Quality plan is defined and task list is released.

3. 'VL02N' is defined thru 'OMJJ' for movemrnt type '641'.

But while doing PGI no inspection lot is created.

Our requirement is to trigger a inspection lot and Invoicing / Billing only possible after inspection lot Approval.

Please advice.

Thanks

Good Morning!

Probably the issue is that Movement Type is set as a default by SAP to Inspection Lot Origin 02.

Please check in OMJJ in "Update control / WM Movement Types", double click on the line and at the bottom of that screen you will see the "Inspect.Lot origin" field.

So if in your system is 02, then you need to activate an Inspection Type of that Origin 02 to get the Inspection Lot created at Goods Issue.

You are doing post good issue so it is 02 origin. So use the inspection types that belongs to 02 origin.

I am agree with Marcos Ugarte,Please follow the same.

10,11 or 12 inspection origin lot is generated while craeting the delivery with or without sales order not doing PGI.

Thanks a lot Dear Marcos & Mr. Baiju.

After activating the Inspection type '02' I am getting the inspection lot.

But the problem is that it is not restricting the PGI till its UD Approval.

The requirement is that PGI can be done only after APPROVAL of Inspection lot.

Please suggest.

Try using insp.lot 12

Hello

use inspection type 02 as suggested by others in above mentioned solutions, secondly, for inspection type 02, system has no effect on PGI.

It only works when you use 10,12.

Dear All,

Thanks for your valuable inputs.

I am able to get the inspection lot against inspection lot origin '02'. But it is not restricting the PGI till Inspection lot clearance.

My user requirement is to hold PGI till the Approval of Inspection lot.

I have tried all but no one is restricting the PGI in the STO case thru movt type '641'.

Please suggest some way SAP GURUs.

Thanks.

Hi atul,

Not sure if we can have PGI restriction for 02 inspection lot using standard. may be user exit is the answer.

You may get a way out in  Note 415716 - User exits in delivery processing.

Hi

As per my understanding  inspection type 10 should be activated in QM view material master.

Can you please check the below thread and also check some similar threads.

I hope your problem will be resolved or else revert with your observation.

I agree here.  The inspection lot you want to use is 10, for the delivery.

Make sure you create an SD in QM info record that specifies inspection "Before Delivery".

You also need to make sure in configuration that inspection type is configured in for your delivery document type.  UB or UBN I believe.  (doing this from memory).

There are, I'm sure, several threads, discussions, or documents out there on setting up the system for inspection type 10, including for STO's.
