Overtime calculation

Hi All,

Please guide me to configure overtime for Salaried and contract employees for US or Canada Payroll

Hi Rakhi,

Generally, US & Canada have 3 Overtime rules preconfigured for overtime payment-

Overtime paid 1.0 (Model Wage type - M805)

Overtime paid 1.5 (Model Wage type - M806)

Overtime paid 2.0 (Model Wage type - M807)

You need to clone these to your custom number codes and make sure any custom Processing classes or cumulation classes in tableV_512W_D are mapped correctly as per your client requirement as there may some classes specifically designed for your client.

You may also have other Overtime rules specific to your client say Overtime at 25%, ect and calculation of paid rate can be chnaged in table V_512W_B table.

Could you please brief how to calculate overtime for full time and contract employees and what's the basic difference in their configuration.

Configuration differences between "full time and contract employees" vary between companies, and could vary within a single company.  Also consider part-time employees, wether "permanent" or "contractual".

Also note that part of the "Overtime" configuration is generally done in HCM Time Management and part in Payroll (Country Specific).
