CK11N No Direct Machine Cost

Hello SAP Gurus,

When I run CK11N to estimate the standard cost, I get the result only without the direct machine cost, but labor cost is correct as bellow:

http://scn.sap.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/506810/image001.png

As you can see:

(1) the costing lot size is 1000PC

(2) direct machine cost (HMAC) is 0.00

When I check the relavant factors, I cannot find any errors:

(1) Activity price:KP26

http://scn.sap.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/506811/image003.png

(2) Routing:CA23

http://scn.sap.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/506812/image005.png

(3) work center: CR03

http://scn.sap.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/506816/image007.png

According to the basic data I maintained, the direct labor cost=(70*1000PC/3600s)*200=3888.88, That is correct.

So the direct machine cost should be: (40*1000pc/3600s)*100=1111.11, but it is actually 0.00 now.

It seems no problem for every factor, I really don't know what causes the error which actually no error message. Could you please give me some advice to resolve it? Or do I missed some key configuration?

Thank you very much!

Eric

Hi

Kindly check that at operation level costing relevancy box is ticked or not. If not, tick it and try.

Hello Rajneesh,

Thanks for your kindly reply. I use the rate routing in this case. But I cannot find out the option " costing relevancy" you mentioned. May I know where it is located in operation level?

PS: I create a new material and test it again, I find even the machine cost is missed in cost component, but after released, it is counted into the standard cost.

(1) It is missed in cost component.

(2) But existing in released standard cost.

as you can see, 136,466.89-134,244.69=2222.2, it is just the amount of HMAC=100*22.222H=2222.2

I check the last material, it is the same case on it.

Is it possible any configuration is missed?

Thanks & Best Regards!

Hi

Strange.

Kindly see the itemisation of this material. Are you able to see the machine cost in itemisation now i.e. after release?

Hi

Check your costing variant. Under update tab Itemisation' should be ticked. However in your case this is not the reason for system behavior.

Still No. both for itimization and component view as bellow. Itimization is same as prior screenshot, and the component view is as bellow:

Eric,

This is very strange

After CK11n executes, check the quantity structure tab and see if it picks up the correct routing.

If it is picking up the wrong routing, check the routing determination settings.

What is the Quantity structure date while you are doing the costing?

What is the strategy sequence in Costing Variant?

Please check the costing tab in the work center..whether this contains the activity type and formula for the machine standard value.

And if formula is maintained then check whether this is relevant to costing in FORM?

Thanks

Hello Hrusikesh,

Thanks for your reply. I checked the points you mentioned bellow:

(1) check the quantity structure tab and see if it picks up the correct routing.

RE: Correct.

(2) What is the Quantity structure date while you are doing the costing?

RE:The quantity structure date is 2014.07.28

(3) What is the strategy sequence in Costing Variant?

RE: for material-

for activity type-

(4)Please check the costing tab in the work center..whether this contains the activity type and formula for the machine standard value.

RE: for work center:

Formula SAP006:

and It is standard setting for the parameter SAP_02/SAP_09/SAP_08

(5) And if formula is maintained then check whether this is relevant to costing in FORM?

RE: May I know how to check this?

Thank you very much!

Hello Hrusikesh,

Furtherly, the quantity of machine time can be correctly accessed from routing on the itemization view as bellow:

So I guess the problem may be caused by other reason from activity price maintanence(KP26).

But when I check the table COST, it seems correct for activity HMAC as well. You can find the table as bellow.

Do you know anyother table can check whether the price is correctly maintained or not?

Eric,

What i meant was Valuation variant Strategy Sequence,

You already checked the formula i am assuming the formula is wrong some where the formula is not calculating the right machine hours.

OK i am going to try one final time

As your formula says SAP_02*SAP_09/SAP_08, Can you double check what are the standard value maintained for all above parameters like SAP_02, SAP_09 and SAP_08. Check this in T-code OP51. In formula if any of the standard values maintained is zero then You multiply anything with zero will have 0.

I would assume any of those parameter will have a 0 value and hence the cost is calculated as 0. If this is so you need to define a standard value which is more than 0 or some value like ( 60 min, 60 second for time etc)

Your PP consultant will be helpful defining formula

Thanks

hello Hrusikesh,

As you request, I have checked the parameters you mentioned. they are configured as bellow:

(1) SAP_02

(2) SAP_09

(3) SAP_08

I am not sure whether it is correct or not. Could you please double confirm that ?

Thanks!

Eric,

In SAP_02 you have to maintain a standard value if you plan your machine hours in Hour then probably you gonna make standard value as 60 mins.

It cant be blank i believe.

Thanks

Hello Hrusikesh,

Thank you very much for your timely response. I just tried the method you suggested as bellow:

(1) SAP_02: I maintained the standard value as "1"

(2) but the machine cost is still "0.00" , and the quanity is same as before "22.222H"

I am not sure whether the problem is caused by something missed in KP26.

PS: I maintain the activity price under the layout customized by myself.

Thanks and Best Regards!

Try 60 mins instead of 1 Min as you are maintaining machine in Hours. The formulas are maintained wrong for sure thats where the hours are not calculated properly.

Check with PP resource to fix this.

Hello Hrusikesh,

I tried what you adviced but the machine cost is still empty.

(1) SAP_02, standard value is 60.

(2) Machine cost and machine time:

As you can see, whatever standard value I maintained in SAP_02, the quantity is always 22.222H. So I think the routing time and workcenter should be correct.

The problem is that I input the price by KP26, but it seems to be considered as 0 by system in costing itemization view. However, after the cost is released, the machine cost is taken into consideration in standard price.

136.466.89-134,244.69=100*22.222h=2222.2=machine cost

The problem is really confusing. Any effect way to debug how the system calculate the line for machine cost?

Thank you very much!

Eric,

We have checked every possible checkpoints,

I found this SAP Note 1864130

Please implement this note and see if problem still persist.

Hello Hrusikesh,

Thanks for your helpful answer. I have already implemented the notes 1864130 and the related ones as bellow:

Then I create a new material and run it again, the problem is still not fixed.

Could you please double check the results?

Thanks a lot!

Eric,

In OKTZ

Check your cost element assignment to cost component structure?

then you check your cost component structure if the cost component is checked with inventory valuation?

Fixed and variable Cost should be checked in inventory valuation

Thanks

Hello Hrusikesh,

Really appreciated for your great patience to take time thinking the problem with me.

Finally, you give me an important light to fix it .

The root reason is lied on the OKTZ. After comparing the settings between labor and machine, I find I didn't set machine as "Cost of Goods Manufactured" under "Cost of goods sold". What a silly mistake!

Thank you so much!

Thanks
