EHP7 upgrade dependency when ESS and MSS services are used.

Hi Team,

We are planning for EHP7 upgrade We are using the ESS and MSS services. Please let us know the dependency while the upgrade. Let us know what all things to be taken care as part of ESS and MSS. let me know if more details is required from my side.

Portal system is on Sap net weaver 7.4

1) Source ECC version

2) Where are ESS/MSS patches deployed ? ECC or Portal

3) What is the ESS/MSS Add-on version

ECC version is EHP6 ECC6.0

Below are the ESS and MSS version it is installed on Portal. As far as i know it's BP and should be installed on Portal only.

Let me know if more details is required.

2024011 - MOPZ does not update ESS/ MSS in Enterprise Portal upgrade (Netweaver 7.3x to Netweaver 7....

There is no change in ESS/MSS package between EHP6 and EHP7.

As your target release is based on NetWeaver 7.4 and the existing portal is already on 7.4 then there should be no issues.

1303362 - ESS/MSS and Enhancement Packages

The note 2024011 is speaking about the portal upgrade. As you already have the portal upgraded to 7.4 with the XSS on the higher level then there shouldn't be any issues when you upgrade the ERP to EHP7.
