IDT BI 4.1 SP3 "Unable to connect to the InfoStore"

Hello all!

After upgrade to SP3 (BI 4.1) we are having trouble using the secured connection in the DFX in Information Design Tool(IDT).

When using the secured connection it is not possible to use the DFX.

We cannot add tables, edit joins etc.

This is the message we receive from the connection:

This message appears on both connections opened from the Local Projects and the Repository Resources.

When I test the ODBC connected to this it is successful.

Anyone has an idea of why this is happening or know how to fix this?

Hi,

Sounds like the connection got corrupted . I'd like to suggest:

1. Create a new secured relational connection to SQL server database.
2. Also create a shortcut for that connection.
3. Replace the existing connection with new connection.

Thanks for fast answer.

I have now tried this and the shortcut/secured connection still fails with the same error.

Looks like the shortcut is the problem.

Any other ideas?

Try below...

Change the preferences for secured connections using "Local middleware" instead of "Server middleware" (menu Windows / Preferences / IDT / Secured connections).

Hi Tonje,

I'd similar issue and SAP suggested apply patch 3 which is just released few week back. After applying patch 3, it will work even if you used secured connection.
