Restore offline backup with DIFFERENT SID

Dear Experts

i have query from one of our client that they want change SID of the system

i think rather then new installation whole process and config all stuff i think to take OFFLINE back up database and restore

the database with new SID

Kindly these can be possible if yes let me know the steps i will be thankful to you

Hi Rajendra,

Your requirements should be a deciding factor for a new installation or a system rename.

There are so many threads on SCN on which people has already gone through this process.

You may use System rename functionality available with SWPM.

OFFLINE back up database and restore the database with new SID 

Yes it's possible.Try to follow SAP system copy method (Homogeneous or Heterogeneous ) guides.By following the system copy procedure you would be able to restore the offline backup and can use new <SID> as desired.
