FF_5 Alternative

Hi Experts,

We are actually facing an issue with FF_5 as follows:

FF_5 allows us to read files from our workstation and not from FTP.  We would like to read the files from FTP to create the bank statements.  Is that possible through another transaction?

If this is not possible, is there any transaction that allows us to read files from FTP and save them on our application sever?

Also, is there any transaction that allows us to save a file from our application server to FTP?

Thanks,

Vitish.

Hi Vitish,

There is no alternative to use FF_5 or FF.5 and read files from  FTP.

It should be checked with BASIS team.

Refer to note

795131 - FAQ: How to make Secure FTP communication with SAPFTP

There is a compone t called BC-SRV-COM-FTP.

You may check from notes of this component of open a new trhead under BC forums.

I believe the BC specialists will be able to help you to achieve your requirements.

Kind Regards,

Vitish,

Transaction that allows us to read local files and save them on our application sever: CG3Z

Transaction that allows us to save a file from our application server to local file: CG3Y

Check.

Vitish,

You can develop a custom program, which would run via a scheduled background job and would FTP the files from the Bank and place it in a particular location in SAP application directory.

Now, from the custom program, you can call the standard program,RFEBKA00, to upload the bank statement data, along with the statement file path and the line item path and in the output control the execute as background job would be ticked.

Hope it helps..

Thanks,

Amlan
