What is the difference between Batch determination and Batch derivation?

Please explain the difference between batch determination and batch derivation.

In simple words, batch determination is used to SELECT a batch according to it's characteristics.

Batch derivation is used to make the finished product to inherit the values of characteristics of the raw material.
