Hi All

We install data services 4.2 on a Redhat 6.5 system.

The repository DB is an ASE 15.7 on the same host.

By the installation came the question where is the Local Repository Location.

Repository name for CMS registry

[DSLOC_REP_DEV                                               ]

Please specify the Sybase ASE install location 'SYBASE'

[/sybase/ASD                                                 ]

Please specify the Sybase OCS 'SYBASE_OCS'

[OCS-15_0                                                    ]

Database server name

[DEVFTBOE01                                                  ]

Database port

[5000  ]

Database name

[DSLOC_REP_DEV                                               ]

Sybase connection string

[ ???                                                           ]

User ID

[DSLOCAL                                                     ]

Password

[<password>

For my it is not clear what is the 'Sybase connection string'

Has anyone an example for me?

Regards Stefan

connection string is nothing but the interface name that you specify in Sybase Interfaces to refer to the server,port combination, in most of the cases it will be same as what you put in database server name

best thing would be to check the interfaces file and provide that name here

The connection string name was the same name as in the file interfaces

Hi Stefan Zumbühl,

Go to the Sybase ASE client installation location  and check the ini folder. In the ini folder , you can see the file called sql.ini.  There you will see the service name with combination server name & port number as Manoj mentioned in the above post . Give the service name in the connections .

The file looks like below .

[BISERVER1]

master=TCP,172.16.xx.xx,6000

query=TCP,172.16.xx.xx,6000

In the above example BISERVER1 is the service name or connection string name. 172.16.xx.xx is server IP address and 6000 is the database instance port number.

Thanks & Regards,

Ramana.
