With the recent release of SSM 10.1 SP4, users can now consume SSM content natively on the iPad (ie without the need for the SSM iPad App). Specifically users can view data on

  • Scorecards: objective and KPIs data
  • Homepage: alerts and performance
    summary
  • Initiatives: initiative summary and
    milestones
  • Strategy: diagrams including objective drilldown
  • Briefing Books: as PDF

In future SPs we plan to add the ability to view and respond to Comments, edit Initiative data, and view and approve Entry and Approval data.

Dear All,

Can anyone confirm whether the iPad application "SAP Strategy Management" is supported by version 10.1 SP 11.

Thanks

This sounds like a step forward. Is this part of Citizen's Insight or a completely different approach. Citizen's Insight required a physical copy of the generated HTML. Can this new method directly access the SSM?

Can you direct us to an article describing how to expose SSM to a iPad?

Thanks

Cliff

Hi Cliff,

This is a different approach from CitizenInsight (CI). CI is to expose SSM data to people without login credentials to SSM (typically external). This approach allows Named SSM users direct access to SSM via the iPad. It essentially replaces the SSM iPad App.

To expose SSM to an iPad, you simply open your iPad's browser and enter the URL to your SSM 10.1 SP4 server (typically http://(servername):50000/strategy). Your iPad browser will automatically be directed to the iPad optimized SSM screens.

Thanks,

Chris

This sounds exciting. Does it also work for IPhones?

Can I assume the IPad must be somehow on the corporate network and that the solution does not include a web server and the ability to expose to the external world?

Has SAP considered setting up a demo system with a generic scorecard that public users could view? It might provide a good selling tool and exposing a server would not be a major expense.

Thanks

Cliff

The core SSM screens are not optimized for iPhones now, but adding the ability to do things like view and approve Entry and Approval data via the iPhone is definitely on our radar.

Yes, your iPad must be connected to your corporate network to access SSM data IF SSM is deployed within the org's firewall. If SSM is deployed in a hosted environment (e.g. via a partner hosted or HANA Enterprise Cloud environment) then connection to the corporate network may not be required.

Yes, at some point we will have a publicly available, self contained demo that highlights the SSM iPad optimized screens. At a minimum we'll have a recorded demo available on YouTube soon, similar to the CI demos up there now...see the links below.
