ALE: applying conversion in receiving system

Hi, gurus.

I have a problem. We have 2 SAP-systems: HR and ERP. We want to transfer hr data from HR to ERP. But in HR system personal numbers (PERNR) are different from ERP system, so we store ERP-PERNR in PA0032 (infotype 0032 in field PNALT) in HR system. So I’ve made a conversion exit in HR system to change PERNR in IDOC segments to PNALT when IDOC is generated. It successfully works.

But. Now we need to send some HR data back from ERP to HR-system. In ERP we don’t store HR-personal number in PA0032, so conversion cannot be executed in ERP while IDOC generating.

We need to apply conversion in HR system towards an IDOC that comes from ERP sender.

Is it possible to apply conversion in receiving system after IDOC was generated in sender system?

I tried to do it by creating a conversion rule in HR system and conversion exit but failed. Program doesn’t even “see” my conversion exit.

May be it is not even possible, I don’t know. And if it’s not I want to know it for sure.
