Hi,

We have recently upgraded portal from SP9 to SP12 in NW 7.31. Post upgrade we are unable to upload documents in KM . On click of folder icon in Content Admin -> KM content -> Folder , i get a javascript error as  "Access is denied" popup_ie6.js as shown in screen-shot below. We are facing this issue post upgrade. Any idea what might be the issue?

Regards,

Navya.

Hello Navya,

Are you correctly getting the bread crumb.?

Please try to open in a different browser as well.

Which IE version are you using.?

Please check if 'Edit' option is there for KM documents.

Please refer to SAP Note 1921618 also.

Hi,

I am using IE 9 version with compatibility mode on. Nw 7.31 Sp12 is compatilble with IE 9. Basically none of the menu option (View, Folder , selection, Go To) works. I tried accessing it via google chrome. on click of menu option nothing happens. This was working fine in SP9 version of portal..

Navya.

Hello

I checked the note 1921618 and there is one more workaround not only update to SP11.

  1. B.) Possible workaround before the release of mentioned deliveries:
  • For All SAP NetWeaver releases
Go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> User Interface -> Menus and select the 'off' menu item. Open it for edit and change the 'Java class' field to 'com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.uicommand.UIHoverMenu'.

Hi,

I tried this option but it didn't help. Do we need to take portal server restart for this change to be effective?

Hello Navya,

Sorry, I am not sure. In fact I don't remember.

If its in the development system or Sandbox, you may try a restart.

Hi Antony,

Which browser should be used so that we don't face this issue. Moreover, for SP12 , IE 9 is a compatible browser. Kindly suggest .

Navya.

Hi,

I tried in IE 8. Still same issue. Got note

1921618 - Context menu is not visible for KM resources  but since we are already on SP12 , not sure if this would be helpful. Any inputs on this?

Hi Jelbin,

The workaround mentioned there doesn't work even after taking portal restart but saw that theres a latest patch released for KMC Content Management for 7.31 SP12. Not sure if that would help resolve this issue.

Hello Navya,

Actually, in our case (SP10), the work around really worked.

Hi Navya,

I have also seen this error fixed with compatibility view.

after the portal loads press F12, look at the document mode and browser mode.

Check that document mode is set to quirks and that browser mode is set to IE9 Compat.

Hi Navya,

Just for testing purposes, change IE9 compat to IE7 and see if it works.

Hi Navya,

I think you should get latest patches for main portal components (it is always advised when you upgrade to get latest patch).

EP-RUNTIME, EP-BASIS, EP-ADMIN.

Also, since this is an HTMLB issue I would also recommend getting latest HTMLB SCA.

If it doesn't work I think you should open an OSS message on the HTMLB component EP-PDK-HBJ

Hi Selva,

If by context menu you mean the detailed navigation in AFP then note 2051013 - Contextual Navigation Panel (CNP) is not displayed in AFP will solve your issue.

If it is a different issue please open a discussion with details.

Saar

Hi Saar,

Context menu is disappeared under KM content.  Not in AFP (CNP).

As per note, 1921618 - Context menu is not visible for KM resources

i have updated this.

--------- Go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> User Interface -> Menus and select the 'off' menu item. Open it for edit and change the 'Java class' field to 'com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.uicommand.UIHoverMenu'.) ---------

But no luck. still same issue.

Should i go for SP06 (EP7.40)  update ? mine is SP05 (EP7.4)

Selva

Hi,

The issue got resolved . Apply note 2051013 - "Contextual Navigation Panel (CNP) is not display in AFP"  and if issue still persists then delete sap themes from PCD using PCD Inspector and take complete restart of the portal. Make sure that settings as per note “ 1613595 - KM icons are not displayed in the Enterprise Portal”   is done.

Navya.
