SMP 2.3.3 Hybrid Web container testing with iOS 8 beta

Hi Experts,

Our HWC container version is 2.3.3.6966 and our SMP version is 2.3.3

Any help will be much appreciated.

As per below document, SMP 2.3.3 doesnt support iOS8, it supports till iOS7 and that too in Apple's backward compatibility mode.

So, what are the options I have?

Upgrade SMP and migrate MBO apps to SMP 3.0 or redesign them with OData approach?

Any other advise other than this?

But the problem is even SMP 3.0 doesnt support ios 8/beta. If you have access at SAP marketplace, check Note 1933857

you want to develop hybrid apps only for ios 8/beta devices? no other platforms?

We raised an OSS ticket to SAP and they provide the new patch for HWC container application.  This patch work with iOS8 and iOS7 as well.

Please look out for an update for the HWC on the App Store.  If you require the template source code project for customization on iOS8, please contact support for a patch.

Thank you for your reply,

We are using SMP 2.3 SP04 P1 and we tried with latest HWC downloaded from App Store. Moreover we compiled the template source code in iOS 8 and tested without success.

Is any other patch is available for SMP 2.3 to fix this issue?

Yes, 2.3 SP04 PL02 is the update you should be looking out for from Apple.  It has been submitted for review already.

In SAP support portal, we can only see up to SMP 2.3 SP04PL01, from where we can download this patch?

Is this patch (SMP 2.3 SP04PL02) solve the HWC application compatibility issue with iOS8?

Yes, this patch is suppose to solve the HWC application compatibility issue with iOS8.  The app is being published to Apple's App Store (pending their review).  If you need need the patched template source code project for customization, please contact support.

I don't think the issue you are seeing (buttons not responsive) is specific to iOS8 Beta.  If I remember correctly, this was seen on iOS7 as well and has been fixed in the iOS HWC version 2.3.47376.  It is important the application is regenerated using the Hybrid App Designer from version 2.3 SP04.

If you want to stay on version 2.3 SP03, please contact support for a patch on top of 2.3 SP03.
