When to use TCD over SAPGUI and Vice Versa

Hello All ,

I am pretty new to eCATT testing tool.

I have 3+ years of Exp as ABAP Developer and TCD and SAPGUI makes me feel like a  BDC program only.

I got basic training about eCATT.

But am really not able to figure out when to use when.

Helpful points really appreciated.
