Hi Atul,
You could have put screen shot of the two values. That would have helped. So the result you get are not mobile phones?
Anyway, ADR2-R3_USER field has information that indicates whether phone is mobile or fixed. If it is 3 or 2 then the number is a mobile phone number. Check the domain of this field for more details.
Cheers,
Niraj

Hi Niraj,
Sorry I was about to add the next screen shot but somehow I clicked on the enter button, I am pasting the same for your reference.
I checked the field as you have mentioned however there are 2 entries which are marked as 3, hence please advice how do I need to distinguish between them since I need to give the technical team a unique entry
Kind Regards
Atul
Atul,
Great you pasted it. Both are default mobile numbers as R3_USER is set to 3 in both cases.
See the second column of your screen shot. It has personal number. The record where it is empty is address independent communication details, whereas the one where it is filled is address dependent. So you have same mobile as both address dependent and independent communication medium.
Strangely you have same address number for both entries. Have you done some custom development so that both address dependent and independent point to same address numbers?
Look in this direction. You will get a solution.
Cheers,
niraj
Hi Niraj,
Yes we did a custom enhancement on the mobile no field so that the system can take only nos previously it used to take alpha numeric values.
Hence please let me know which entry needs to be given to the technical team, should it be the second entry where the same is address dependent of the communication medium as pasted below or the first entry where it is independent.
Kind Regards
Atul
Atul,
That is for you to decide. Whether you want to use address independent or address dependent communication. How do you create BP? From Web UI/GUI/some interface? Where do you pass mobile number while creating BP? In address dependent or independent communication medium?
Whichever place you pass data, should be used to get the data from table.
Niraj
Hello Atul,
Sorry for chiming in, but I'd like to make a small correction: table BUT021_FS will show you address-dependent communication data only. So both telephone numbers are address dependent. According to me the situation you're facing is the following:
1) BP n°320041 is an organization
2) This organization has an address with telephone number xxx
3) This organization has also a relationship to a contact person (to find the BP number of this contact person you can search table BUT000-PERSNUMBER = '12351')
4) Within this relationship, the same telephone number xxx is used.
What does that mean?
The same telephone number is used for different purposes (to contact both the organization, and the contact person within the organization). So you'd better ask one functional consultant within your company which one is better.
Regards,
Nicolas.
