BCM Chat on DMZ

Hi Experts,

We are trying to create chat website for BCM chat on DMZ server ( Demilitarized Zone). We followed the following steps to setup the chat website but when we tried to test we are getting error "Page can not be found". We tried testing on the same machine where the chat website was created and we are using https://<IP address on the website>/ChatAs/chatForm.aspx url for testing. Please let us know if we are missing anything or doing something wrong.

i)  Copy the C:\SAP\BCM\Install\7.0.x.x\Internet Chat Client\contents\ChatAs folder to the chat wwwroot on the DMZ server.

ii) Edit following two files to have correct information about channel and chat portal:

a.) Web.config

b.)  CustomerChatForm.xml

iii) replace the ip.address:1080 with the IP address and possible port of the ACME_Website virtual unit (port is
not mandatory but informative for administrators
😞

iv) Edit the file …ChatAs\ChatForms\CustomerChatForm.xml to define the chat channel(s).

Your help is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Amit.

Hello Amit,

there are some steps, that should be done in the IIS, dd you miss it? after that the system should be restarted.

to reach chat client web page you should use the IP adress of you chat_VU instead of web site IP.

Hi Anton,

Thanks for the response.

As you mentioned "to reach chat client web page you should use the IP adress of you chat_VU instead of web site IP". But how do we connect Chat_VU to the chat client web page? Should IP Address for Chat_VU and chat client web page be not the same IP Address? Also as I mentioned chat client web page is created one the seperate server (DMZ). Please help.

Thanks,

Amit
