Hi ,

I have installed server and client components on different machines. My
repository database also on server machine. I successfully created the
repository. From client system I can login the central management
console also . But when I am trying to login the designer I am getting
the below error login failed to specific systems.

I am using SAP Data Services 4.2.2

Please find the below  screenshots and help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks & Regards,
Venkata Ramana Paidi

Hi Venkata,

Can you please check the below points regarding your query:

  • All Specific Ports are Open or not (Related to SAP Business Objects Application ,SAP BODS 4.0 and Database)
  • Ping the database sever name using the command line in the designer machine
  • Though you logged in, the user may not have privileges to access DB.
  • Try to telnet the CMS Port, database port, telnet <serverip><serverPort>, if no issues then no problem.
  • Last but not the least (it happened to me) check both are in the same sub-net and no connectivity issues between the machines. If that's the case, try using LAN cable. It will work
Or you can also refer below Thread also.

Hi ,

I have checked the above options.

1. 6400 port is opened. I used telnet command  and checked port is opened.

2. I can ping the Database server from designer system.

3.  I can access the Data services repository database from designer machine.

4. Both systems under same sub-net mask and connected with LAN cable.

Please suggest which will be cause for the not allowing me to login?

Thanks & Regards,

Ramana.

Hi,

Thats a generic error. Check whether you have the user rights. Create a separate user login and configure the same for repository and try to login with that user id.

Hi Arun,

I am using the Administrator user only for log in from client system .

Is there any other reason for unable to login to designer?

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Ramana,

Since you are using client i assume you have taken care of all the firewall and proxy issues.

You are able to connect thro CMC because both server and CMC in same box. Clearly this is a connectivity issue between your client machine and server. Can you try creating a new repo with different username and configure in CMC. Try connecting the new repo with the new username and pwd? Also were able to ping from your client machine to server?

Hi Ramana,

Create a host entry to the server and see if that works? Any domain issue? I mean both the client and server network in same domain?

Thanks,

Arun

Hi Ramana,

I think the issue with the port in CMC. Please follow the below steps.

CMC (Servers  -->  Core Services  -->  right click on CMS  -->  properties -->  Request port(Common Settings) -->   Un check auto assign --> enter unused port (Ex: 6405) and same port need to be open on firewall)

Restart the Services. Hope this will help

Thanks
